Sweetie

Description

Sweetie earned her name honestly — she is as sweet and gentle as they come. She also answers to Sweetie-pie, especially when there are ear rubs involved.

She can be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she becomes your quiet little shadow. She loves walking on leash at your pace, always sticking to your left side, and she’ll politely sit and mind her business when other animals pass by (a quick reminder helps!).

Sweetie is a sensitive soul who gets scared when left alone outside or tied up, and she may try to find you. She communicates well and will nudge you when she needs to go out — and she keeps a predictable potty schedule like the good girl she is.

Inside the home, Sweetie prefers no collar (she hasn’t found one she loves yet, but maybe you two can go shopping together!). She loves food, and if something is left on the counter… she might assume it’s a snack for her. She has great manners once reminded — just say “manners, sit.”

Her idea of a perfect night? Cuddling on the couch with her human while watching TV. She doesn’t ask for much, but she does appreciate when men and children approach slowly, letting her take the lead in building trust.

Sweetie is quiet, except for her adorable “doorbell bark” — just a couple of alert barks when someone walks up to the house. Tell her “not our story,” and she’ll settle right down.

She does have one unique and tender quirk: she carries around a de-stuffed toy that belonged to her friend who recently passed. She doesn’t let anyone else touch it — it’s her little way of remembering.

Every day Sweetie shows a new piece of her personality. She may be quiet, but she is full of heart, charm, and little surprises. Whoever adopts her will gain a loyal, gentle companion who’s just waiting for her forever human.
