About

Where it all began.

I had always dreamed of running a rescue, probably since I was around 12 years old. You'd think I had grown up with animals all my life; however my dad was deathly allergic, and so I had to fill my heart by working at the Humane Society in town. I loved what we did there; however, I wanted to do more!

After working in an animal shelter, and while working alongside a couple different rescues as a foster, I came to realize that I wanted to run my own rescue, and I knew I had what it took. From dogs and cats to guinea pigs and rabbits; you name it and I wanted to save it. After getting my diploma in grooming and building a successful business in Moose Jaw, I decided it was time to do more in the animal world.

And so began Running Wild Rescue. We started out as a small rescue helping Moose Jaw in 2018. Shortly after, we decided to expand our horizon and help the bigger picture which has led me down this road with the goal of helping the whole entire world. I do not feel any animal should be turned away. No situation should go unseen or unheard, if it needs help, it needs help. Money, access, background, or even borders shouldn’t dictate if an animal is worth saving.

Our rescue team really thrives at seeing the big picture within the animal world. We all have a common goal; to get the animal population under control and make the world a better place for the animals and people in it. Our common goal allows us to work on tougher cases and intake more owner surrenders; however the amount of strays in the prairies has us always squeezing in ‘just one more’. Our group is all about inviting anyone in to help make a difference, because we can't do this alone, we need to do it together. Every single one of the people behind RWR have become like family to me. I am not only invested in their path to helping the animals, but they’ve also become my life long friends.

I know that our journey has only just begun and I can’t wait to see where the road continues to lead us. Thank you for following along and joining our team on this journey. Thank you for choosing to make a difference in the world. Welcome to the Running Wild Rescue family.
