Process/Adoption Requirements

  1.  Browse our pages of adoptable animals to find who you’d like to add to your family.

  2.  Click the “Adopt Me” button to complete the Adoption Application.

  3.  The application will require basic information about the applicant and anyone living in the home and caring for your animals. If you rent, we will require confirmation from your landlord that you are able to adopt the animal you’re applying for.

We also require a picture of a photo ID of the applicant, who is required to be an adult in the province or state in which they live. The application will also request home photos which can be submitted with your application or to one of our adoption coordinators directly after they receive your application. Two references and phone numbers are also required to complete your application.

  4.  Once your application is submitted, one of our adoption coordinators will be in touch. Response time will vary depending on the volume of applications being processed, but you should hear from a member of our team within 5-7 days. If multiple applications are received for the same animal, our adoption coordinators might suggest similar animals or discuss with you other animals who might be a good fit for your home and family.

  5.  If your application is approved for adoption, you will receive an electronic adoption contract and be provided with information on how to pay the adoption fee and any other applicable fees.

  6.  If transportation is required, our adoption coordinators will discuss timeline and options with you for safe transportation of your new family member.

Interested in adopting a cat that is currently with one of our partner locations? (Cat Cafes, Lounges, and Pet Stores)

  • Our partners each have a slightly different process for adoptions, but they all begin with visiting their location and meeting the kitty that you are interested in. Some locations allow drop ins, while others require a scheduled visit. Make sure to check the detailed profile page on our website for the kitty you’re interested in. Each page will tell you where they are located and give you a quick connection for more information on where to visit them!

  • Once you visit the location, the staff there will give you guidance for the next steps towards adopting! It’s important to note that some of our partners require you to visit more than once before officially adopting your new family member.

Transportation

  1.  We are very thankful for our partnerships with a number of cat lounges in BC, as a result of these partnerships, we regularly travel two routes through to BC. We regularly offer transport anywhere along our route from Moose Jaw, SK to Kelowna, BC as well as anywhere along the Trans Canada Highway from Moose Jaw, SK to Vancouver Island. Our arrival on the island varies between Victoria and Nanaimo.

  2.  Transport to other locations can also be discussed and arranged on a case by case basis as we have a wide network of volunteers.

  3.  Long distance transports are completed by trained and experienced long haul transporters. To ensure the health and safety of all animals, we follow all humane transport guidelines set out by the CFIA and SPCA. We ensure that the transportation of all animals is done in a safe and secure way and we work hard to make sure each trip is as stress free as possible for every single animal in our care.

Adoption Fees

Puppies

Pups 2-6 months in age are $400.

All pups will have received at least one dose of dewormer and will be at various stages of vaccination depending on age and how long they have been in care.

It is important to note that some pups may still require a booster or additional dose of de-wormer after adoption. We try our best to ensure all pups receive as much vetting as possible before they are adopted, but this can vary depending on vet availability, where the pup is located, and how long they have been in care before being adopted.

Once pups are old enough to be fixed, adopters can receive a $100 reimbursement by providing proof of surgery documentation to the rescue.
