Rosco is a very special three-legged pup looking for his forever home!

We’ve had the pleasure of fostering Rosco, and he has truly been a wonderful addition to our family. He absolutely loves people and wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. One of his sweetest habits is running to the door to greet you whenever you come home — he’s always genuinely excited to see his people.

Rosco has also been doing fantastically with our two kittens and has shown himself to be a very social dog. We’ve taken him to the dog park several times, where he loves spending time with dogs of all sizes. He’s been comfortable playing and socializing with both the big dogs and the little ones.

Despite having only three legs, Rosco gets around extremely well and doesn’t seem to let it slow him down!

He does appear to carry a little bit of trauma related to vehicles. We don’t know his full history, but given his previous injuries and loss of a back leg, it’s possible he had a frightening experience involving a vehicle. When cars pass, he can bark and become very focused on them, almost as though he wants to chase or “hunt” them. This is something his future family should be aware of and continue working with him on, particularly when walking near traffic.

Around the house, though, Rosco has been excellent. We haven’t had issues with him chewing furniture, destroying belongings, or getting into things he shouldn’t. He settles in nicely and simply seems happiest when he can be part of the family.

We would genuinely consider keeping Rosco ourselves if our circumstances were different. We already have two other dogs joining our household in October, and unfortunately four dogs would simply be too much for us to manage.

Rosco deserves a family where he can stay for good. He is affectionate, social, loyal, fun, and incredibly happy to be around the people he loves. He has been a wonderful part of our family during his time with us, and we are going to miss him very much when he leaves.
