Sweet and shy — the perfect combo! 🤍

Meet Olive, a beautiful, fluffy girl who is proof that sometimes the sweetest dogs just need someone willing to give them a little time.

Olive came into foster care very shy and unsure of the world. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of this whole house-and-people thing, but little by little, she’s gaining confidence. These days, she’s starting to explore her world with a wagging tail and a big smile on her face. 🥰

Olive’s temperament is calm, loving and easygoing. She is:

🐾 House trained
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Wonderful on leash
🐾 Great with other dogs, both in and outside the home
🐾 Great with kids — she may be shy at first, but she quickly figured out that kids come with treats and belly rubs!
🐾 Good off leash and keeps track of her people
🐾 Learning to love car rides — she now happily jumps into the vehicle because she knows an adventure (and often some off-leash running!) is waiting for her.

Olive sleeps outside her crate at night without any issues. When her people are home, she is happy to settle and relax. She still needs her crate when left alone, though, because the big house can feel intimidating when her people aren’t around. Her crate is her safe space, and when she’s in it alone, she settles beautifully and quietly sleeps until her people return.

At about 55 pounds and just above knee height, Olive is the perfect size for someone looking for a substantial but gentle companion.

She really is such a lovely girl. She’s gentle, sweet and incredibly deserving of someone who will continue helping her discover that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. And because she is so calm and easygoing, Olive could even be a wonderful first dog for someone who doesn’t have a lot of dog experience.

Olive is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations and is patiently waiting for someone to take a chance on her.

She may not be the dog who runs up to you and demands attention on day one. But give Olive a little time, and you’ll get to watch something pretty special — a shy girl slowly becoming the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be. ❤️
